It would appear not. "say stem.1 stem.2 stem.3" returns "A STEM.2 C"
instead of "A JOE C", where I had done stem.=joe and drop stem.2. I
ran the test on the OS/2 version of OREXX; I don't know whether it has
been corrected on the open source version.
