Well no, they don't want to sell "lots and lots of chips".  What they
want to do is sell more chips than the other guys, regardless of the
volume.  They want a high percentage of the marketplace, not simply high
numbers.

Allowing your product line to stagnate is suicidal.  The other guys will
take your market share in an instant.
