Be aware ... In our case, with Midaw Enabled and UA25357 applied, some of our SMF SYS1.MANxx datasets got corrupted... so we had to back out the ptf.
Here is the red alert that IBM has just issued: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ABSTRACT: Media Manager IO errors and potential data loss if using MIDAWs DESCRIPTION: IO errors in Media Manager can occur on z/OS 1.6, 1.7 or 1.8 when using MIDAWs on a z9 processor if UA25366, UA25367 or UA26694 are installed. The Media Manager is used as an IO driver for various access methods and vendor products. Some of the users of the media manager may experience data loss due to IO errors. In particular if HFS experiences an IO error during a synch operation the HFS data set may become damaged. See APAR OA17844 for details. Please note that MIDAWs can be enabled by default. The following z/OS command can be issued on z/OS 1.6 and higher to determine if MIDAWs are enabled: D IOS,MIDAW.
