Import will pick up the vsam define parameters automatically. You do not have
to do a delete/define.

If you need to do a delete/define and then import the dataset use the Intoempty
parameter.

Subject: VSAM Import Export Question

Hello,

I have to do an Export/Import run on a dataset to reorginize it.

My question is this? On the import side do I have to do a complete
cluster/index define with all the jcl/vsam control statements or will the
import function pick up the parameter of the dataset from the exported dataset.

And can I Import the dataset back into the old cluster/index ... or do I have
to redefine it?

  Thanks
