1. Is there a way to get a list of VSAM data set names by CLUSTER name only. (Not had much luck with ISMF PANELS). 2. Is there a better utility to use to move the VSAM datasets with more than 8 components to the new device. (move from RAMMAC 3 to DS6000) . Any help would be appreciated. <snip> 1) If you know that the VSAM files all have the same pattern to their names, then you can tell IDCAMS LISTC that you want CLUsters (don't specify anything else). 2) Not being a big HSM user (these days I am a user, not sysprog in this area) and having used ADRDSSU a few times (but never with that many components to a VSAM file), I would wonder if the vendor of the new space (raid unit) has a utility for migration. If you don't have too many of those files, AND they aren't terribly huge, how about killing the easiest to rebuilt components and then doing just that part of the define (and build) after the ADRDSSU/HSM move? I am guessing that time is critical and I can't project how long it will take to build the alternate indexes.
