Unless anyone >knows better. Beware of storage puddles. You don't need a new storage group if you use a storage class with guaranteed space. It could be part on some other storage group. You just need to ensure that there is sufficient space available for it. I'm getting confused, though, about what the problem is that you are trying to solve. IMHO, there should be a *really* good reason to try to force SMS to select a particular volume.
