You can't call the one exit from the other since you would end up with the same environment as if you just called it directly as RENT.
It's really not a big deal to make your module rent, it only takes a short while to make sure your not modifying yourself or other areas incorrectly. If you are, it's just a matter of making sure you build a storage area that it's safe to modify. There isn't really any good reason to have your exit modify itslef, but I don't know what processing you're trying to do with it.
