Thanks, Andrew, for the JCL-to-XML utility, I plan to try it out "soon" .

Maybe this is an opportunity to bring up something I've been thinking
about in regard to JCL and XML. I've been thinking that it would be good
to define a standardized XML syntax (and possibly schema) for jobs and
also things such as the "processes" used in the scheduler that we use
here, which contain one or more scheduled tasks.

If SHARE or another dedicated group of people worked at it, we might be
able to come up with a standard way of representing the work, which could
be imported and exported from the various schedulers through XSLT
transforms. XSLT could also be used to create various representations of
the work for reports and such; I'm sure there are other uses. Who knows,
maybe even a JES2 reader using XSLT to transform from XML to the
standardized JCL format prior to conversion.
