Everyone,

I thought a quick status update might help the curious.

IBM has a slip trap dump of the region after the bad close call is made.

They have been looking at it for almost a week now. It currently still baffles them.

I'm hoping they make progress this week.

Everyone,

I"m finally getting feedback from IBM. It turns out that another IBM system recovery routine was messing up my ACB before my recovery got control.

Once IBM fixed this routine, it would seem that the problem is going away.

It is not a VSAM problem.

It is an IBM CPCS problem. For those that care what system was involved.

At least this is what I am hearing. I have not received the "official" notice back from IBM on this. If it differs from my above notes, I'll repost another reply.
