Just to clarify, Oracle Database 10g certainly does operate as a server
database on both Linux on z and z/OS (in case anybody was wondering).  In
fact, Oracle's first two platforms for the Version 10.2.0.2 (the current
release) were z/OS and Linux on z.

Installation is indeed "Oracle standard" which is to say that it's unlike
anything else.  No SMP/E on z/OS, for example.  This can be distressing.
However, I think I read something about being able to bypass the X display
requirement if you use a 100% unattended/scripted installation.  Maybe
somebody knows more about that.
