We are a pretty small shop and don't print anything that massive. We
have only 4 3390 (33K tracks each) spool packs.

IDCAMS has features to limit the number of input records processed and
to skip a quantity of records before starting to process them.

Subject: AFP: spool packs, usg, utilities

we run a z/os 1.4 shop, soon to be 1.7. we are an AFP print shop.
"management" has asked me to survey the ibm-main listserver community
for the following info:
(1) if you are an AFP print shop, how many 3390 volumes do you have
assigned to your jes spool?
(2) is there in existence any 3rd party software/products/utility(ies)
which could be used to allow a print job to be segmented to the spool in
increments? (here"s the scenario: a batch job writes 50M pages to
tape, the tapes are fed to this hypothetical utility, which in turn
would bring in pages 1 - 250,000 to the spool for printing via AFP ;
after they are purged, then pages 250,001 - 500,000 etc etc etc )
