But you can still run ISAM programs, just against a VSAM file. Or is
that facility gone now?

Well they took ISAM new allocations out of JCL (IIRC). Somewhere
along the line I thought I heard that the ISAM/VSAM interface is gone
as well. I could be wrong on this part though.
