If the data set is backed up by HSM, you can recover it. If SimpList is installed at your site, select the data set using function 'H' (HSM). This will display a list of all the back-ups, including the time and date each backup was taken. Just select whichever backup you want to recover.
If you don't have SimpList, take a look at the HSM HLIST and HRECOVER commands.
