Robert

Sorry for the delay, I'm cleaning up posts to which I intended to reply.

Much the easiest way to get a trace of session flow is to use NetView =
Session Manager (NLDM) "complete PIU" trace. You will need to do this in =
the system where the session end-point resides. The simplest operation =
is to log onto NetView on the system running the application and enter =
NLDM TRACE START CPIU luname. After you've performed your test, view the =
"PT" (primary trace) of that LU. (You may also then want to enter the =
command NLDM TRACE STOP CPIU luname.)

/com.ibm.itnetviewforzos.doc/dqcl2ms1464.htm

This knocks the spots off the rigmarole required finally to get look at =
a VTAM buffer trace and provides identical information.

Hello everyone,=20

I am trying to get a buffer trace of a downstream LU (AIX box) that is=20
in session with a cross-domain VTAM application. Nothing is showing up=20
in the trace dataset. Should I be able to trace this from my system or=20
must this trace be run on the cross-domain system? I'm not very familiar =

with tracing so I could have done something wrong.=20

Thanks for any info...=20
