Bill, The link to which you pointed was a SASware 2006 ballot, whose results were announced at SUGI in March.
The results were that the "port SAS to Linux on the mainframe" issue received 73 votes, ranking it as the 92nd most popular issue overall, out of 184 items, exactly 50%. Its not likely to go far. We tried their beta product, it worked well during the limited testing we gave it and we were disappointed it didn't make it to market. We've since ported our SAS applications from VM/CMS to AIX, although we still invoke them from VM.
