Just to see where the time was being spent. One of the interesting things was number of IND$FILE calls. With the more modern emulators there's a config option of IND$FILE or FTP and IND$FILE is commonly the default. There's two modes of IND$FILE. Fast and slow, don't know if it's configurable or not, but the emulator folks said they looked at the extended attribute byte to determine which mode to use. Guess with a new system might need to review VTAM buffers. ==>D NET,BFRUSE One thing you don't want to see is a high number of expansions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
