Thanks for the info.  Apparently the GUI only shows flashcopy
relationships that are established via either the GUI or the CLI
commands, not those that are initiated by the mainframe.  After I posted
the question, I remembered (old-timer's disease) that I have about 50
persistent flashcopies active on my production LPAR.  None of them shows
up on the GUI.  

Hmm, TSO commands documented in a DFSMS bookshelf.  I guess it makes
sense once you know to look there.  :0)   I'll look at the ANTRQST macro
in more detail when I have more time.  For now, I found (kinda) the
information I needed by using the ICKDSF FLASHCPY command.

Sorry don't know.  I play a lot with Flashcopy but only from the
mainframe.  I would think they are SUPPOSED to show up

Not from the TSO commands, but if you write a program using the ANTRQST
macros you can get more detailed info on the sessions.  See the
"Advanced Copy Services" manual SC35-0428

same manual as above.   If your copy is more than 3 years old, they may 
not be in there.  It took IBM some time to add them.
