I am assuming you are talking about z/OS. z/OS can NOT be SAMBA
client. It can be a SAMBA server. Which means you can map from the PC side.
I am not sure if z/OS can be a NFS client, I know it can be a NFS server.
If you are talking about Linux running on a zSeries box, then it can be
a SAMBA or NFS client.
However, FTP more effecient transfering large files when compared to
SAMBA. You an initiate a ftp transfer from the z/OS or the PC side. I
don't know how FTP compares to NFS.
If you are talking about z/VM or VSE, I have no clue about those.
