We are considering replacing CMF with RMF to reduce our software costs and
have been asked as to whether this would be the only benefit.
I have seen a simular query on the list server in 2001 but this related to
how to do it and there was no further comments on the result.
From an installation and maintenance point I believe RMF would be of
benefit but has anybody else done the conversion and seen benefits.?

CMF uses a numbr of "hooks" into various z/OS components that are very
heavily maintenance-dependant. Failure to keep maintenance in sync can
result in outages, as we learned in my shop, whereas RMF appears to used
defined (but not documented) interfaces to avoid this risk. YMMV.
