I'm not sure what you're missing. But key maps are not global for
me - moving from menu to menu, I find that my changes aren't all there
if I haven't made them there.

I also recommend that you vary as little as possible from the default
standards, making your keyboard useable to all. When you want to
change a key, have a similar key for F6 and for F18.

Here are my settings from within EDIT:
 F1 . . . HELP SHORT Help

F22 . . LEFT SHORT Left
F23 . . RIGHT SHORT Right
F24 . . RETP SHORT Cretriev

retrieve is so useful that most people I know stick it in as F12.
Note, that people who want SPLIT will get a similar function with
START, and they can easily remember to change from F2 to F14 (same key
on our PCs).

SDSF has:
PF1 . . . HELP
PF2 . . . start
PF3 . . . END
PF4 . . . RETURN
PF5 . . . IFIND
PF6 . . . ichange
PF7 . . . up
PF8 . . . down
PF9 . . . SWAP next
PF10 . . LEFT
PF11 . . RIGHT
PF12 . . RETRIEVE

PF13 . . HELP
PF14 . . SPLIT
PF15 . . END
PF16 . . RETURN
PF17 . . IFIND
PF18 . . BOOK
PF19 . . prev
PF20 . . next
PF21 . . SWAP prev
PF22 . . LEFT
PF23 . . RIGHT
PF24 . . RETRIEVE

Note that up/down keys and prev/next keys are pretty similar in
function.

Does someone have a list of various places that we need to go to to
change a key setting everyplace?
