Hi,

First off... thanks for correcting my exit name typo.  I guess my
fingers like to type xmit (transmit). The good thing is, if I search
the archives or google with the same typo, I will find this thread.  :-)

Second off... sorry for the delayed response as I was out of the 
office for several days.

The vendor is CA.  The software is CA-JOBTRAC (job scheduling software).
IIRC, they (well, Legent at the time) have been using this exit for their 
AMR (Automatic Message Recognition) since at least around the MVS/ESA V4
time frame, so even though it is not a good practice today I'm not sure
what other options they had when JOBTRAC first came into existence (which
may have been before MVS/ESA for all I know).
