This works, as does John's suggestion of using an IRB but that requires auth and status does not, provided the victim task is one of your own subtasks. However, be VEWY VEWY CAREFUL... "freezing" a task that is in an indeterminate state with respect to resources held, can bring your system to a shuddering halt.
