Gary,
I was somewhat mystified about Barry's reply myself.
It came across (to me) as he was upset about my question. Its been
quite a few years but I did remember that certain IBM types at (GUIDE
& SHARE) were not to happy with the button. I am pretty sure it was
done in jest (and with good intentions) so at that time IBM had
plentiful supply of stuff shirts (IIRC they were still required to
wear the IBM suits). I remember distinctly an IBMer commenting to me
(privately) that he thought the button was in poor taste. My comment
was ease up it was done in humor and was not meant to link IBM & the
so called porn star.
I was just simply asking if there were any (other) buttons that IBM
sort of got upset about. I think I asked a SHARE (I was more
comfortable with the upper management of SHARE at the time) person.
If IBM objected to any other button(s) and got back a reply is that
told me that they were but weren't talking.
SInce IBM has mellowed over the suit and tie issue and they have
somewhat better corporate image now I would be curious to hear some
one give an opinion of the "old" days.

Ed,
I know Barry already replied to this thread. I looked on his "The
Button Man" site and this was the closest match I saw there. I don't
know if this was the one were referring to.

I'm sorry to hear about Don, I too hope that his number is permanently
retired.
Best regards,
