Or my messages were replies to messages with [spam] in the subjects.
Or both.

FYI...some of the SPAM headers are due to clocks out of sync on various
mail servers....

Okay, this appears to be fine now.  What happened is that our final
outbound gateway that delivers messages to external companies has a
setting that says to keep open connections with our internal gateways as
long as there are messages to send.  Well we have been busy in the email
world over the past few months so the connection from our internal
gateways have been open for days.  This is not a good thing.
