I am trying to use GZIP on MVS. I cannot figure out how to allocate the output file. Does anyone know the DD Name for this?
Since I cannot allocate the output file, it gets generated on the default volume (not desirable), and with the default size - which causes the job to abend with a B37 on big files. When I use the -c option which is supposed to redirect the output to STDOUT, it hangs in batch, and gives a SOC4 in TSO foreground.
