Rex There's no need to feel chastised. I believe we've discovered that the manual is less than clear about what needs to be done and your testing - together with Pat's contributions - has clarified it somewhat for everyone's benefit.
I used to rely on students to discover things that strict adherence to the manual would never have discovered. On one famous occasion, a student (from Ireland as it happens) revealed something that worked unexpectedly (in NPSI) which was cleared up only after a call to the development lab.
