I've run with[1] a single mastercat, single global zone and single
sysres set, although that was with two LPAR's rather than 4. There is
guidance in the CPAC and Unix installation guides. Some things to
consider are:
Keep as much as possible in user catalogs.
Exploit static system symbols so that you have no dependency on
the volser of the IPL volume, other than sharing a pattern with the
vollsers of the other target volumes.
Exploit indirect and extended indirect cataloging
Ensure that *FS and PDSE data sets have unique names.
Exploit IPLPARM.
[1] Not counting the one volume emergency system, which was
self contained.
