Hi,

Ok, I just figured out that Shadow use our Production CICS as a "Natural Batch Server".

Initially, I thought Shadow uses CICS for the TP component but that is not true. They use CICS for the "Natural" RPC calls. Like Entire Broker would be using 'EntireX Servers'.

Only problem is, they use the 'CICS SVC/EXCI' interface and Entire Broker uses the Adabas SVC for their spawning of the Natural program.

Entire Servers can be predefined but Shadow passes all that to CICS and the Natural/Cics threads that are "unlimited" in our Production CICS.

Not sure yet how SHadow gets around the overhead of the "Natural Nucleus Initialization" at the start of each Natural Transaction in CICS.

Note: Amazing stuff !!

We are running Version 6.1.1.4396 in our Test/Development area. It
should go into production this first quarter. The differences between
this release and 6.1.3 are not that significant (at least in how the
release notes impact us) - so we may go with 6.1.3 before the move to
production.
