But I do know how to get the SVC table to see what has been installed w/o those tools (e.g., IPCS against ACTIVE and look at the SVC table). I also know how to look at the running system to see what has been built (Sub system stuff). So knowing or not knowing the commercial tools does not necessarily make one an SVC writer. Knowing the rules and being able to write appropriate code while having a need for such a specialized routine makes one an SVC writer. Just one man's opinion (who has done it).
