We have an application that wants to take several backups Michael, I *strongly* recommend you use trsmain. DSS expects a short block at the beginning of the file to mark it as something it produced. ftp to another platform tends to cause where blocks begin and end to be lost and DSS will have nothing to do with a file that does not have that short block. TRSMAIN will rebuild it back to original condition. It always works for me.
