C functions that use the LE obtain their dynamic storage using LE facilities
not GETMAIN/STORAGE. They use both stack (automatic) storage and heap
storage, which the LE manages independently of each other.
First, request and obtain an LE storage report. Then you will see what kind
of dynamic storage is being allocated and not freed. Misused heap storage
is of course the likely, indeed all but certain culprit.
