Thank you all for your clarification. A coworker was trying to run an IVP and the only way he knew how to do anything in OMVS/USS was through ishell. When it wasn't working, I got caught up in this tangent. Now at least I understand a little better what ishell does/doesn't do well and I will share the info with my coworker.
