Paul, Yes the default is NEW DELETE DELETE, and that is exactly what the JOB took.
We went into an ENQ on the Prod IMS RESLIB. When the Job was cancelled, the only thing we could determine is that the Delete bit on the dataset was on (This is OS/390 V2.4 I think) and that when the IMS Regions came down, away went the data set.
