We run z/OS NFS Servers (r1.6) on 3 LPARs and we export and import hundreds
of MVS PS data sets to 7 AIX NFS clients and have been doing it for years
(more than 6 that I know of).

As I mentioned above, Serving up MVS data sets to AIX is not new for us.
IBM acknowledged at one time that we might be pushing the envelope in the
way we use it.

One thing that changed significantly: the new AIX servers are close to 3
times faster than the old ones.

The MVS NFS Server remains the same release level. The AIX NFS clients were
upgraded to a newer release and faster pSeries hardware.

I tried adjusting writetimeouts; from 15 to 10 to 5 seconds and back to 10
seconds. Didn't do much of anything for me.
