Radoslaw, That is not exactly correct. All attached z/OS hosts are polled, but they are polled one at a time; starting with the last system that took "ownership" of an inserted volume. If the first system polled takes ownership, the other attached systems are never even polled. If none of the z/OS attached hosts take ownership (because the tape belongs to a distributed system sharing the same robot), then that distributed system my take ownership on its own (it is not polled, the distributed system must take ownership itself).

Usually only one of them answers "it's mine, give category xxx to that cartridge" and other systems reject the cartridge. Decision is taken by TMS, so OAM communicates with TMS using CBRUXENT exit. -- Radoslaw Skorupka Lodz, Poland ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
