It's feasible and quite EASY to do. Period. What is needed is shared dasd. It
can be non-SMS managed or SMS-managed as well.
In case of SMS a shared BCS is also needed. In case of non-SMS, nothing except
disk space.
The only "trick" is two-step procedure:
1. On system MVS-A DUMP required dataset to a file, place the file on shared
DASD. Leave the file uncataloged: DISP=(,KEEP)
2. Restore it from MVS-B. Specify volser in dump file DDname.
Works like a charm.
Alternatively a tape volume can be used instead of shared DASD. Depending on
TMS and tape HW it can be harder to use.
There are other possibilities like PiT copy, etc. Maybe more efficient, but
probably more complex.
