happened to IBM's deep discounts for educational institutions? Why do
ISV's think they need to recover all their development costs in the
first year of a new package's availability? Why do they think that a
machine upgrade is just so their software gets more service AND USAGE?
Just going to a bigger machine does NOT mean that I will use YOUR
software any more? ISV's, let's get back to reality; as Robin Williams
once said, "It's a helluve concept!"

We have talked about the education on here before. One thing I
think I should add was that back 30+ years ago, I saw and was a part
of a service bureau run their work on an educational systems computer
at night. I don't think it was right then and even less so today. I
wonder if there was much of that going on then. I don't know but I
was a witness and an unwilling participant then.
