While PR/SM and CP share some DNA, they each have mutated to the point 
that they wouldn't recognize each other at a family reunion.

Yes, PR/SM uses SIE to create partitions and CP uses SIE to create virtual 
machines.  There are two sets of SIE hardware, if you will, so that the 
partition AND the virtual machine are executing on the hardware with most of 
the SIE assists still intact.  Is the virtual or real?  (ouch...the pain...make 
it 
stop!)
