My boss at a former installation had me put FDRSAR as the first file
of every dump tape.  That way we knew where the standalone restore was
and also it was easy to make sure that the standalone restore matched
the version of FDR we dumped the file with.  If you had a dump and the
tape was good (with 3420's that was a definite if), you definitely
could restore it.
