The original thread got an infusion from a different thread. That thread
was about an article which said that Windows development was superior to
Linux simply because Windows imposed a "one true way" whereas Linux
allowed for many different ways to do something. This reduced the
complexity of Windows over Linux because you didn't have to even
consider what product/paradigm to use. You used either C# or VB.NET and
you made .NET applications. Period. No need to consider Perl vs. Python
vs. Ruby vs. Java vs. whatever-else. No need to worry about the "Window
Manager" (Gnome vs KDE vs TWM vs ...). No need to consider the "widgets"
to use. No choice made making decisions a "no brainer". That's what I
think started this fork() of the original therad.
