I'm sitting here looking at the original CLIP manual, from 40+ years ago, and the title says "Clip/360: Change/Create Label Identification Program For System/360 DASD And Tape" and the authors are identified as J. B. Blomquist and M. J. Franco. Since they wrote the program, and the manual, I'm inclined to accept their title.
