When I notice problems like this (bad or misleading text in APARs), I open a PMR with IBM against the component who authored the APAR to request that correct RETAIN search keywords be added to the APAR text, or that the APAR be clarified.
This takes approximately as long as it takes to type this paragraph into IBM- MAIN, and actually gets the problem fixed.
