We're in strong agreement about TRANSMIT. But the OP asked whether it is possible to FTP an IEBCOPY unloaded data set roundtrip to a PC intact. I answered, no, that even BINARY won't work. Others answered, taking my last phrase out of context, that BINARY always works, barring communications failures; that BINARY always correctly transmits the data correctly (but making execptions for "structure" and "metadata", which I consider essential to to the working of the overall process), and using phrases such as "[I] don't understand what [I'm] doing"; "sheer delusion and willful ignorance"; "shoot from the hip"; and insisting that only an AMASPZAP dump can show differences between two files, when differences are obvious in ISPF BROWSE. Much in there I find disrespectful. Thanks for your help: the kind good intentions in this case and the valuable substance when I'm truly lost. -- gil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
