Chris, At times like this I sorely miss my long lost APPN "Formats and Protocols" bible. I believe official sources claim that an APPN CP and an LU were different kinds of NAUs because they were different chunks of code. (Or at least the same chunk of code implementing 2 different FSMs.) I still get confused about about the distinction (or lack thereof) between CP and LU functions, and am about get actively confused again because I'm about to dig into MS MDS stuff (Management Services Multi-Domain Support, I think) where the deviding line between VTAM's CP and LU functions get blurred (IMO).
