JCL Symbols are PROC variables, and may be set using:
1) EXEC statement keywords
2) Keywords on the PROC statement
3) The "SET" JCL statement.
They are defined in the JCL Reference manual, chapter 5: "Using System
Symbols and JCL Symbols"
Example:
// SET PARM1=NEW
// EXEC PROC=FOO,PARM2=OLD
In this example, while executing the FOO proc, you have JCL symbols
PARM1 and PARM2.
My question is this: does anyone know a way for a program to read the
current JCL symbols?
It could be that all of this information is washed away by the converter
interpreter....
