I would see the email in my in box and look at it before the agent kicked in. Once looked at, it's not a new email and the agent wouldn't modify it. It also takes a second refresh to get the color. But doing "normal" work you probably wouldn't notice either one. But I wouldn't do it this way anyway. I would just move them all to another folder and look at them when I got a chance. That is what I think most people do and did with an agent for a different list in the past.
