You may recall that IBM placed the SOAP for CICS feature on the Web as a no-charge download. So why do you have to order the CICS Service Flow Feature the traditional ways, and why isn't it a simple download?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the answer has to do not with the Service Flow Feature itself but rather with shipment of WebSphere Developer for System z. Because you're getting that "1 and 10" license entitlement for WDz, we need to make sure we record that fact properly. So whether it's ShopzSeries electronic delivery or tapes+CDs to your doorstep, ordering that feature code gets the licenses properly documented. I'm informed that you should get these orders in before close of business Thursday, June 28, 2007. Some other interesting bits you should know about: 1. If you have IBM Debug Tool, your one user unrestricted license of WDz will let you enjoy graphical debugging. 2. If you have IBM Fault Analyzer, you can download the plug-in to WDz to enjoy graphical access to fault entries here: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24015470 3. If you have IBM File Manager, you can download the plug-in to WDz to enjoy graphical browsing and editing access to various types of datasets here: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24015464 4. You can grab the WebSphere Developer Asset Analyzer plug-in here: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24010055 This plug-in provides just a bit of the function found in the full WebSphere Studio Asset Analyzer product. It'll automatically scan any COBOL or PL/I on your WDz workstation, search for declarations of data elements and programs, and even give you some impact analysis for data elements. 5. Make sure you have a good amount of memory on your PC to run WDz well. 6. Make sure you use the update feature in WDz (the IBM Installation Manager) to download the latest patches and fixes from the update server. Keep repeating if necessary until there are no more updates left to apply. Version 7.0 "out of the box" requires at least some updates. - - - - - Timothy Sipples IBM Consulting Enterprise Software Architect Specializing in Software Architectures Related to System z Based in Tokyo, Serving IBM Japan and IBM Asia-Pacific E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
