It doesn't stop there, Ed. They actually have two languages of Norwegian that
are officially spoken: Bokmål and Nynorsk. Bokmål is supposed to be quite
close to Danish. And I've also witnessed a Dane and Norwegian conversing quite
easily in their respective languages to each other. As long as the Norwegian
speaks Bokmål, I think.

P.S. I've been spending 10 hours a week at the Helsinki University in an
advanced Finnish grammar course, so I found the discussions on languages quite
enjoyable.

P.P.S. Mainframes rule. (To keep things on topic.)

First off I would like to apologize for misidentifying the language. But to be
honest after
seeing the post(s) about the language several people agree its difficult unless
you are a
native to figure out which. Again my apologies.

I thought the underlying "humor" was more important than the language in
anycase.

For some reason IBM-MAIN has stopped showing up in my in box so I am web
posting until
Darren can figure out why I have stopped receiving it.
