I'm still not getting anywhere with this, folks.. :-( (I'm assuming that recycling tape backups onto DASD backups is actually possible..? I don't like giving up on things easily but if it's flogging a dead horse, as they say..)

It's running on a VTS. I manually ADDVOL'd a single DASD backup volume to experiment with, it shows up correctly when I do a LIST BVOL. SETSYS TAPEDELETION is set to SCRATCHTAPE I changed a couple of other SETSYS values though: BACKUP(DASD) RECYCLEOUTPUT(BACKUP(DASD)) Don't know what else to do now.
