seems to me to be a very different one from the question

Would anyone buy a z/Architecture machine/mainframe "for its sheer processing power"?

Unless you two are prepared to formulate your positions carefully enough so that we can have a clear notion of what you are disagreeing about, this thread is going to continue to generate much heat and no light (and should be killed).
